Puppy love

Just a few gratuitously adorable puppy pictures today from my latest trip to the animal shelter. There were 6 puppies with their mom in a crate, and while some of them ignored me, one little black and white cutie pie obviously decided that he wants to pursue a modeling career when he grows up. :)

Heeey, look at the silly lady with the camera!

Don't pay any mind to the others. I'm the cute one!

Waitwait, don't go away yet...

One more shot first! I call this my
"Stoic sexy puppeh" look.

Ha, and okay, one kitten picture. They're the same ones from a couple weeks ago; bigger now, and in need of a nap after some energetic romping.

Snuggling is the best!

Snowpocalypse!

After last year's very mild winter, I guess it was too much to expect the same for this year. Unfortunately, it has been colder than usual, with weeks of sub-freezing temperature. Not very much snow, until this past weekend, when a big combo storm dumped about 10 inches of snow onto NYC. A lot of it has melted already, but it's always fun on the first day.

The snowy view out of Jon's window

Ah snowplows. I hope the owner of this car wasn't planning
on driving!

Beautiful blue skies after a day of snow. Not shown: the dozens upon
dozens of neighborhood kids tromping around in glee.

Animal therapy

One surefire way to feel warm in the middle of winter is to cuddle up with a small fuzzy animal! I recently began to volunteer again at a local rescue group; look at all the cutie pies here! I had a lot of fun; will definitely try to visit on a regular basis.

She's saying: I'm too cool to look at the camera!

She's actually a dwarf cat who has a
neurological condition. It makes her look at
everything with her head tilted. Looks cute
though, no?

Aw. Poor kitty looks mean, but he is the gushiest loveball who just
wants his ears scratched.

Cuteness overload photo!

Momma cat with another kitten. Look at
momma cat's eyes; one is blue and one
is green (I would totally name her Yuna!)

I think the word is: ADORUNKABLE.

Momma dog with another puppy. She's trying to say, "I can't wait
until I'm done nursing these busters!"
